Before you pick one

  • Find out where day 1 starts

On r/LongDistance, one user got 487 days in My Love and 488 in Cozy Couples for the same date. One reply put the gap down to counting: is the first day 0 or 1? Phorb starts at 0, and the love counter on this site lets you switch.

  • Decide if you both need to see it

One-phone counters mean you each enter the date and pick your own setup. A commenter on r/LongDistance said the same number on both phones feels nicer than two separate setups. Phorb, The Couple and Couple Joy need you both to install.

  • Check what the widget costs

All six apps are free to download, but the widget is often what you came for. My Love sells its widget as a $0.99 upgrade, and other listings show purchases up to $49.99. Add the widget before you settle in.

Love counter app questions

What is the best love counter app?

For couples, we pick Phorb: you pair once, and the Days Together widget shows the same count on both phones. For one phone, My Love has about 1.07 million US ratings, and Love Counter – Time in Love counts to the second.

Which love counter apps work on both phones?

Of the six here, Phorb, The Couple and Couple Joy connect two phones. The listings for My Love, Love Counter and Been Love Memory don't mention pairing, so each of you would enter the date on your own phone.

Why do two love counter apps show different numbers?

One app may count the day you got together as day 0 and the other as day 1, which puts them one day apart. Phorb's widget shows 0 on that day and 1 the day after. The love counter on this site shows both ways.

Is there a free love counter app?

All six are free to download. Phorb's widgets are free, and one Premium covers both partners if you want more. My Love charges $0.99 for its widget, and the others list in-app purchases, apart from Been Love Memory.
